His dedication earned him the title “the father of Rebula,” as he preserved and expanded the planting of this variety, ensuring its future in Brda’s vineyards. His vision also went beyond simple preservation. Upon retiring, Zvonimir’s ultimate dream was to create a sparkling wine from Rebula that could stand alongside the finest champagnes. This dream gave birth to Medot.
