First, here’s a disclaimer: Viberate analytics are only available on desktop, so if you’re scrolling through this on your mobile, open your laptop before diving into the data. With this out of the way – let’s go to town.

With Viberate analytics, artists and music pros can make smart and less risky decisions based on data-driven insights. We’re excited to take you on a spin and show you all it can do.

Viberate analytics turn accurate music data into simple, understandable, and relevant insights for any artist or music professional in the world.

🔎 “So, how do I find it?”

👉 Go to the navigation bar and LOG IN to Viberate with your account. If you haven't selected your plan yet, click the "SIGN UP" button and choose the right option for you.

👉 Now you can start exploring Viberate analytics. Go to the search box in the navigation bar and type in the artist, genre or country you want to explore. When you get to the specific Page you were looking for, click the "ANALYTICS" button.

👉 To access artist ranking, go to “CHARTS” in the navigation bar and click the "EXPLORE CHARTS" button. And if you're already exploring Charts, a click on an artist's name will take you to their Artist analytics.

The main features we’re rolling out are Charts, as well as Artist, Country, and Genre analytics. In this article, we'll explore the first two.

Charts that go way beyond superstar names

If you think that Charts will only show you headliners, worry not, we've made sure that smaller musicians are also well-represented. You can filter the artists by country, genre, and subgenre, and then also sort by:

1. Viberate Popularity, which combines data from social and streaming channels in one metric to show overall online and offline popularity.

2. Channel-specific parameters such as YouTube video views, Instagram likes, Shazams, SoundCloud plays, Spotify monthly listeners, etc.

3. Desired timeline: last 30 days, last 3 months, and last year, or go for all-time results.

To see where a particular artist ranks, just type in their name and they will get highlighted in the Chart. Want to find out which US Indie Pop artists got the most SoundCloud plays in the last 12 months? Not a problem. For another example, watch the video below.

Artist analytics give you in-depth artist overview

At the top of an Artist Page, you'll find some basic information about the artist: their overall rank, their rank within the country, within the genre, and within the main subgenre.

It gets more interesting…

#1 Check the artist's 90-day pulse with Career Health

Career Health reviews an artist's online performance in the last 3 months on 1) social media and on 2) music channels, while 3) network respect shows how artists are following each other across monitored channels. To make it fair, the artist is only compared to similarly ranking peers in the same subgenre (so Trappers are only compared to similar Trappers, and Heavy Metal bands to other headbangers in the same subgenre). Based on that, you can see if an artist's performance is »poor«, »fair« or »good«.

#2 Discover the highlights of the last 12 months with Yearly Career Performance

A 12-month timeline will show you an artist’s online popularity, based on Viberate Points, and point out the moments that stood out. Viberate Popularity combines data from social media and music channels in one metric. Here’s how to interpret the timeline with the example of Billie Eilish:

#3 See follower trends with Total Fanbase Distribution and Growth

Monitor the total number of fans on social media and streaming channels, identify the strongest channels, and see how the fanbase grew in the past 7 days. You can also select a longer period of time to review fanbase growth trends on the monitored channels and pinpoint the influence of different factors, such as touring or new releases.

#4 Compare Fanbase vs. Engagement

Promotors and labels usually look for artists with highly engaged audiences, because they have higher promotion potential. The result: more streams or more tickets sold. That’s why the engagement ratio is one of the most important indicators. This section tells you how engaged an audience is by comparing fanbase monthly growth vs. monthly engagement and total fanbase size vs. monthly engagement.

#5 Take Engagement under the microscope

See how engagement across social media and music channels has changed in the last 7 days and 1, 3 or 12 months. Look for spikes in the graphs – they usually follow an important announcement or new release – and check how certain content performs.

#6 Place listeners with the Monthly Audience Map

This section shows you where the Spotify monthly listeners and YouTube monthly video views are coming from. This is especially handy for promotors booking an artist for an event in a specific country. Learn more with the help of Carl Cox in the video.

#7 Check the Events Overview and Top Live Performances

Event Overview gives you a breakdown of an artist’s detected live performances: where they perform the most, their average crowd size, the most-played types of venues, the number of events, and upcoming events.

In the Top Live Performances, you can also take a look at the events and festivals in the last 2 years to get a clearer picture. Here’s what UMEK’s Events Overview looks like (and take note of the pandemic effect):

#8 See who follows whom with Artist Connections and Connections by Popularity

Here you can see how many other artists follow the artist on social media and music channels. Being followed by an established musician is a big deal. We see this as an act of endorsement. It can also mean that the followed artist is gaining momentum. Dive into social networks and explore how artists are following each other across monitored channels.

#9 Get into the Music Chart analysis

This section shows how many times an artist has appeared on charts across different music channels and where each track ranked: in which country it was charted, its rank, where it peaked, peak date, and how much time it spent on the chart.

#10 Explore an artist’s performance on YouTube and Shazam

See how many Shazams and YouTube video views the artist has received overall and in the last 7 days. Plus, find the top videos and tracks.

#11 Comb through Twitter Content Performance

The detailed view tells you how the public is engaging with an artist’s tweets. Comparing an artist’s engagement rate to the industry rate gives you a good indicator of their performance. The case of Billie Eilish below, for example, shows she’s surpassing her peers.  Also, take a look at the top tweets in the last 90 days.

#12 And finally… comb through Instagram Content Performance

Similar to the previous section, this one analyses how an artist’s content is performing on Instagram, providing average post likes and comparing an artist’s engagement rate to the industry.
