Overview of Arabic Folk musician Tagrawla
Tagrawla as a music group was founded in 2007 by Abdessamad Ouakka in the town of Msemrir in the Moroccan province of Tinghir. Initially a two-member band, the group expanded to a 3 member band by 2008.
Tagrawla, as its name indicates, uses activism as the pillar of its existence to defend human rights, peace, diversity, and the validation of Amazigh culture by demonstrating the grave situation of oppressed people through their own universal music. Tagrawla is a band that decided to continue the Amazigh fight against injustice.
Tagrawla also sings about love and peace around the world. The simplicity, camaraderie, and humor of the band charms audiences, especially when we weave together songs with enthusiasm and humor.
Today Tagrawla is Abdessamad Ouakka (Vocals & Guitar), Redounane Oudda (Lead Guitar), Hichame Essaid (Guitar), Ayoub Tastift (Piano/Keys), Mustapha Jebraoui (Drums), and Jamal Tastift (Bass).
