More about Infra / Tzu Jan

Overview of Trance musician Infra / Tzu Jan

Tzu-Jan is the heartfelt psychedelic music project of Austrian duo Sebastian and Natalie. For them, music is a sacred experience—an invitation to step beyond the self, surrender to the dance, and momentarily escape reality. Their sound channels the infinite energy and possibilities of psychedelic music, weaving deep bass, intricate sound design, and surreal melodies into immersive sonic landscapes.

Rooted in the magic of spontaneous creation, Tzu-Jan seeks to capture those fleeting moments of pure joy—the shared dance, the feeling of weightlessness, the freedom of simply being. Their music invites listeners to embrace the present, letting go of conscious thought and diving into a world where movement and sound merge into something transcendent. Imagine a cosmic journey where every note is a step deeper into the unknown—a moment of wonder, connection, and boundless energy.

Sebastian began producing music in 2005, initially exploring Drum and Bass and Tekno. His early work led to a vinyl release under Kurt Rassel, a collaborative project. In 2010, he shifted to psychedelic music, creating fast-paced compositions as Infra. His first Psy EP, Wormholes and Cake, was released on Anomalistic Records in 2014, following early releases on various compilations (Vas).

In 2013, Sebastian met Natalie, who had been immersed in the Psy scene since 2009. Their shared passion for music led to the creation of Tzu-Jan. They released their debut EP, Dualism, independently on November 26, 2018. Since then, they have released multiple tracks on international VAs and five EPs:

    • Sidonia (June 1, 2018, Sacred Sound Records) – 3 tracks (2 Infra, 1 Tzu-Jan)
    • Who Are You When No One Is Watching (December 20, 2019, Hybrid Records) – a collaboration with Kopophobia, Mindelfe & Azgaja
    • Entelechie (September 10, 2020, independent)
    • It’s Like Singing with Whales in Space – The Koji Noji Saga (May 1, 2024, Sacred Sound Records)

There are different ways in which they play their live sets; it always depends on the audience and the festival/ritual at which they perform.
Through their constant production, they have a wide variety of music in different BPMs and soundscapes.
