Ceyonta' Fidel Zimmons (born May 7, 1985), better known by his stage name Ce-ILLA, is an American hip hop rapper, record producer, and entrepreneur from North Long Beach, California.
Early Life and Education
Born and raised in North Long Beach, Ce-ILLA graduated from Long Beach David Starr Jordan High School in 2003. After graduation, he worked various jobs while pursuing his music career. He used this time to hone his business skills and finance studio time and equipment.
Musical Career
Early Beginnings (2001-2011)
Ce-ILLA's musical journey began in his sophomore year of high school when he started as a DJ. He later transitioned into rapping and formed a high school rap group called Hospital Crew with childhood friends. This group helped him develop his freestyle skills, which would later influence his songwriting.
In 2004, Ce-ILLA began his professional rap career recording and performing with The Hustle Holix, a local underground rap group from Long Beach. He was also a founding member of UnDaClass, an underground rap duo he formed with fellow Long Beach rapper Enaki Coinz (aka Konsept).
Solo Career and ODDEO ART (2011-Present)
Ce-ILLA launched his solo career in 2011, but it officially began in 2020 with the release of his first album, "Crime Beach." In the same year, he established ODDEO ART, a full-service entertainment company.
Ce-ILLA has opened for legendary hip hop artists such as Dead Prez, Aceyalone, Warren G, Big Twinz, Tha Chill, Planet Asia, Chino XL, and 2Mex. He has also collaborated with 2Mex on the song "Base's Loaded," which he produced and rapped on alongside The Hustle Holix and Enaki Coinz.
